The Cloncreen Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Year 3 is now open for applications!
The Cloncreen Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is now open for applications to the next phase of funding for communities adjacent to the Cloncreen Wind Farm. The Fund will distribute €150,000 to community and voluntary groups, non-profit groups, clubs and societies, or organisations with a charitable status towards community-based projects and initiatives which aim to deliver community good and services within 10km of the wind farm and that support the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals .
This fund has been established in recognition of the key role of local communities in developing new renewable energy infrastructure, and is part of the Government's Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS-1). It will be delivered each year until 2038.
Funding will be given out under three strands:
- Small Initiatives - €1,000 - €10,000
- Large Initiatives - €10,001 - €25,000
- Multi-annual Funding - €25,001+ (over 1 to 8 years)
